Downloading the Code Samples
The sample code referred to throughout this book has been packaged into a compressed tar file, often referred to as a tarball). This file is named bka_code.tar.gz. To download the code samples that accompany the book, click here download.

Installing the Sample Code
When you un-tar the sample code tarball, it will create a directory named bka_code. Under this directory, you will find one subdirectory for each project referred to in the book. For example, the project FirstProject is located in the firstproject directory. To un-tar this the sample code, use the following steps:

1. Copy the file bka_code.tar.gz to the directory under which you want to expand the bka_code directory.
2. If you are in a graphical environment such as KDE or GNOME, either exit to the command prompt or open a console window.
3. From the command prompt, use cd (change directory) to make the directory into which you copied bka_code.tar.gz the current directory.
4. From the command prompt, enter the following command:
    tar zxf bka_code.tar.gz
